“Until I Found You” is Stephen Sanchez’s love song about Georgia, a woman he dated long-distance who was extremely important to him, and whom he once pushed away because family circumstances scared him 1. The meaning

Stephen Sanchez has said “Until I Found You” came to be because he was dating a girl in Georgia at the time 1. That woman, Georgia, was “extremely important” to him, and they were doing “the long distance thing” 1. He wrote the song “in the middle of our relationship,” nodding back at the period when he lost her and felt lost himself 1.

The backstory is a failed first attempt and a later return. Sanchez and Georgia tried to date in August 2020, and he “pushed her away at the time because of things going on in my life,” then reconnected some months later after he moved to Nashville 1. He has explained that he “completely pushed her away” because of family circumstances that “scared me so bad” to bring her into, given that she was “so loving and so wonderful” toward him 1.
